Mike Creagan has more than 25 years experience in the job-search industry, specialising in career planning and career consulting.
After completing a personnel cadetship with a major department store in Sydney, Australia, Mike was appointed Store Personnel Manager at a large branch.
Five years later, he was appointed as National Human Resource Manager for the Australian subsidiary of the world's largest wine and spirit company. He held this position for some years. During his HR career, he screened and interviewed many thousands of applicants and gained a unique perspective on all aspects of job-searching.
Mike continued to expand his knowledge and experience, by undertaking further studies in various aspects of career planning. This eventually led to him achieving a Degree, and he was awarded a Bachelor of Training and Development by the University of New England, Australia. This was in addition to his other tertiary qualifications.
Facilitating and presenting numerous courses in job seeking and career planning over many years has given Mike a wealth of hands-on experience. This assisted him in establishing his own job-search consulting company in Northern NSW, Australia. After some 15 years, his company is now well established and enjoys a top reputation from his many thousands of satisfied clients.
Over this period of time, Mike has authored the well known and authoritative book "Surfing Your Horizons" (HarperCollins Publishing). Over the past decade it has sold tens of thousands of copies and enjoyed several reprints. Mike is also the author of "The Perfect Career (Job-Search) - Trainer's Manuals," as well as numerous CD-ROMs, DVDs and other training materials. Mike's training materials have been extensively used by colleges, career counsellors, private trainers, universities and executive placement agencies.
During his 25 years, Mike has assisted more than 40,000 people in job-seeking, career planning and development skills. There is little doubt that Mike Creagan is one of the leading authorities in the field of career planning.
Mike lives in Northern NSW, Australia with his wife and family, where he pursues many community interests, in addition to his consulting activities.
